The American Council On Renewable Energy Announces New Members To Its Board Of Directors

WASHINGTON, June 28, 2016 -- The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) is pleased to announce new members of its 2016 Board of Directors: Susan Nickey, Managing Director, Hannon Armstrong; Jim Spencer, President and CEO, EverPower Wind Holdings, Inc.; Patrick Woodson, Chairman, E.ON North America.

"It's my pleasure to welcome these highly qualified individuals to the ACORE board," said Gregory Wetstone, ACORE's President and CEO. "All three represent the highest levels of accomplishment and leadership in their respective fields, and each understands well the critical linkages between business, policy and finance responsible for accelerating the transition to a renewable energy economy."

"Ms. Nickey, Mr. Spencer and Mr. Woodson have the board's unanimous support," said Dan Reicher, chairman of ACORE's board and Executive Director of the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy & Finance at Stanford University, "and we are eager to add their expertise and insights as ACORE works to accelerate investment and growth in the renewable energy industry."

Susan Nickey is a Managing Director at Hannon Armstrong, a leading provider of debt and equity financing to the energy efficiency and renewable energy markets. She has significant experience in the renewable energy industry, with prior experience as the founder and CEO of Threshold Power, service as the CFO at ACCIONA Energy North America from 2007-2010, and before that as Managing Director of Investment Banking in the Project Finance Group of Mesirow Financial. "ACORE is a leading organization in renewable energy finance, and I am honored to be able to have this opportunity to guide and advise ACORE's work in this critical facet of a rapidly growing industry," said Ms. Nickey.

Jim Spencer is President and CEO of EverPower Wind Holdings, Inc., a developer, owner and operator of utility grade wind projects. Mr. Spencer has over 25 years of experience in the power industry managing the development and financing of energy projects, and prior to founding EverPower in 2002, he served as an advisor to Renewable Energy Systems Limited (RES). Mr. Spencer began his career in 1985 as an attorney in the energy project finance group at Chadbourne & Parke LLP. "I am looking forward to working with my colleagues on the ACORE board to advance its mission of accelerating the transition to a renewable energy economy," said Mr. Spencer.

Patrick Woodson is Chairman of E.ON North America. E.ON now operates 20 wind facilities in the U.S. totaling more than 3,000 megawatts as well as large scale solar facilities. Mr. Woodson also oversees the energy services business for E. ON started in 2015 and prior to that, Mr. Woodson was a co-founder of Renewable Generation, a project development company which sold its interests to Airtricity and was later acquired by E. ON. "ACORE's work as a leading pan-renewable organization has helped shape the policy and finance landscape for renewables as it exists today. I am pleased to have this chance to contribute to ACORE's work and continue to drive the industry forward."
