Creating Memories - Our Gifts

THANK YOU to all those who made 2016 a truly memorable season!  Most trips were sold out, we hosted 6 private groups including 2 "experiential education" school trips and a leadership retreat, and more than 70% of our guests continue to be returning or referred - wow - thank you!!

We have many grateful memories from last summer's guests and staff, community and cultural interactions, and amazing wildlife experiences, including:

**Sharing the Mission Group of Islands with a young pack of sea wolves as incredible neighbours: seeing or hearing them each day as part of this intricate ecosystem. Thank you to Boomer Jerritt, Robert Yone, and Isabelle Groc for their beautiful photography.
**Continued daily sea otter sightings with the male otter raft on our doorstep at the nearby Spring Island reef: learn more about these creatures in a recent article featured as the cover story in Canadian Wildlife Magazine by photographer and writer Isabelle Groc who joined us last summer.
**Savouring our 25th season of traditional salmon feasts and fireside visits with the Jules family and friends from Kyququot!  Our Pinel/Fisher family and past WCE owner Rupert Wong's family were honoured to be adopted by Chris Jules and Victor Hansen last May when they had their traditional wedding ceremony. We were all deeply saddened by Victor's recent passing this fall - he was a true community provider, catching salmon for all.

Many precious people close to us and our West Coast Expeditions family have passed this year:  Barb McClatchie, Fred Roots, Rolf Kellerhals, Wilfred Nadeau, Sandy Miller, Alec Short, Margaret Jack, Carol Kerr, Victor Hansen, and others... Our heartfelt thoughts are with each family, cherishing our connection and the memories created and shared in Kyuquot and elsewhere.
