Description

To coincide with Scotland's Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology 2017, the Heritage Volunteer Organisers Scotland network is hosting two events to celebrate volunteers and volunteer managers in the Scottish heritage sector.

Our National Volunteers' Week event, the Celebrating Heritage Volunteers Symposium, will take place during Volunteers' Week in June 2017. The symposium is for volunteers and will be a day of celebration, skills sharing and knowledge exchange. Help us celebrate the journey, outcomes, impact and diversity of volunteers across the Scottish heritage sector at this one day symposium. You'll hear from inspirational speakers, take part in hands-on workshops, and network with volunteers from a range of Scottish heritage organisations.

Get involved throughout 2017 by using: #LoveHeritageVols!

This unique opportunity is funded by the Museums Galleries Scotland Skills Development Fund, and supported in kind by the HVOS sector partners.

Not a volunteer? Volunteer managers are welcome to attend our HVOS Volunteer Managers Conference, to be held in Stirling on 21st September 2017.

(Please note that photographs and videos will be taken at this event for publicity and social media use.)

Organised by

Founded in 2004, the Heritage Volunteer Organisers Scotland (HVOS) is an informal, free network open to anyone and everyone with an interest in volunteer management in the heritage sector, regardless of role.

HVOS aims to support, represent and champion the role of volunteer managers in our sector, by providing a forum for networking and peer support, encouraging and sharing good practice, hosting skills development conferences and networking events, raising the profile of those managing volunteers, encouraging diversity and overseeing the development of resources which can be used in the sector, including the well-received and popular ‘Volunteer Organisers Toolkit’ (supported by Museums Galleries Scotland).
